Tanzania March 2018 - Warthogs and Hyenas |
As mentioned on Page 1, I am splitting the photos by type of animal this time around. Please click on the following links to see the page you'd like to view: |

I'm not really sure why I've lumped these animals together on one page but it seemed a good mix at the time and they are, apparently two of the Ugly 5 (the other three being wildebeest, vultures and maribou stork). First up, a couple of hyenas that were slinking about. |
I like warthog - particularly when they are running with their tails at right angles to their bodies. |
We came across this pack of hyena whilst driving around. I didn't realise they liked water until we saw them padding. |
Whilst we were moving from Dunia to Namiri Plains when we came across this mum and two very hungry pups. She was amazingly patient with us taking lots of photos. |
This was the cheekiest of the two pups. |
Not satisfied with hyena young ... |
... we also saw some two warthog mums with hoglet triplets. |
How can anyone call them ugly? |
Another game drive found this hyena (with a couple of others) enjoying the spoils of a kill. |
