Tanzania 2012 - Movies

This year I thought I'd try and capture some of the action as well. These short "movies" are not very professional - perhaps I'll get better as time goes by and I have more practice - but they give an idea of what was going on.
Starting with a scan of the Ngorongoro Crater - far too wide to take as a photograph so this seemed a good idea to try and convey the sheer scale of this wonderful place.
Next we have a lioness and two of her juvenile female cubs. We'd seen her calling for them earlier and watched them walk down the road together. The reason for her calling was that it was tea time. Hartebeest was on the menu that day.
A bit less gruesome, we move onto Blue Monkeys having a bit of a set to. We spotted these two in Lake Manyara National Park.
Next stop, Black Rhino. Very rare animals so we were privileged to see this Mum and Calf in the Ngorongoro Crater.
Another treat was seeing this big male Leopard just strolling along, doing Leopard type things early one morning.
We went to the northern part of the Serengeti in the hope that we would see the Wildebeest crossing the Mara River. This small group might have been having a practice across one of the smaller rivers in the area.
It didn't even begin to prepare us for the chaos and noise of the main event that we saw later the same day.
It was stunning to see - both exciting and horrifying at the same time. We were willing the Wildebeest to get across and get out of the river at the other side rather than being eaten by a Crocodile, being washed away by the current or getting stuck on the rocks.
