Jonathon spotted some ears in the grass which turned out to be these juvenile females. Mum called them and all three of them were soon showing how pleased they were to see each other.

When lions within one pride meet having been apart from each other, even if only for a relatively short tme, they are so pleased to see each other.

People ask how close you get to the lions. Close enough for us to have to drive away from the one on the far left so she didn't sneak under the vehicle looking for shade and for the one on the immediate left to whack the truck with her tail as she walked past us.
We arrived at the picnic site in Ngorongoro for lunch but couldn't get out of the vehicle as there were a small group of lions there. Not a bad reason for eating your lunch in the truck.
