Our Garden - October 2016 |
It was a day of sunshine and heavy showers so I popped out when the rain stopped. We really needed the rain so it was good to see it and it freshened everything up. |
I gave the ceanothus a prune a few weeks ago (part of it has died off) and it seems to be flowering again now. |
These lovely nerine seem to pop out of nowhere at this time of year. |
Still plenty of colour in the hydrangeas but I'll take most of their heads off soon so Linda can have them. |
The courgettes seem to be having one last go before finishing for the year. |
This is the only acer that's started to turn colour so far but I'm sure the others will have their autumn glory colour soon. |
Plenty of berries already for the birds to enjoy. |
The kale has grown into trees! |
The rain drops balancing on the leaves makes for pretty photos! |
The last of the new lavender that Carole gave us earlier this year. |
Plenty of fuchsias around as well. |
The heuchera give us plenty of colour all year round. |
The begonias haven't done much through the summer but look a them now! |
I thought these thistles had finished but this one is still doing well. |
This acer is a lovely red colour all year but goes even brighter in autumn. |
This is a more unusual colour for a hydrangea. |
The pampas has suddenly sprung into fronds. |
A lovely rainbow graced the skies at one point. |
The ornamental grass blows around very nicely in the breeze. |
The fish seem to be happier (and more lively) with the nets now the heron can't attack them. |
Lots of geometric shapes around the garden. |
In between the showers, it was a lovely sunny day. |
More berries - pyracantha this time. |
Pretty pink here and there. |
One last flush from my favourite rose. |
The wallflowers in the patio beds seem to have settled in well. |
That's it for this month. |
