Our Garden - November 2014

acer

The Acers really come into full glory in Autumn and this year is no exception.

You'll see some more photos of the Acers as you work your way down the page.

berries

There are a few different types of berries around the garden so the birds should be fine.

hydra

The Hydrangea heads will be cut soon to take to Linda at Merrywood.

fir

The veg beds on the right have been battered about a bit. Hope at least some of the Brassicas under the nets have survived.

leaf

It's lovely to see the leaves changing colour but it seems a shame that they have to die to do so.

cotinus

The Cotinus is various shades of red.

rose

This Rose seems to be flowering well in front of the shed.

pyra

Not sure that these pyracantha berries look too appetising but perhaps they do to our feathered friends.

sedum

The Sedum are getting darker and darker each month.

cyclamen

This Cyclamen (and a friend or two) came from Christine's when she was clearing her beds etc. Happy to have rejects like this!

erigerum

Not sure why these are still flowering (not many flowers now) but they're very welcome.

heuchera

The Heuchera are still adding a lot of colour.

primula

These Primula need planting out but it's too wet today so they'll have to wait until it fairs up a bit.

honeysuckle

Not sure why the Honeysuckle's having another go at flowering either - probably because it's been so mild. We've only had one frost so far this Autumn. That's maybe why the Pampas is going great guns as well.

eucalyptus

The Eucalyptus doesn't seem any worse for being blown over earlier in the year.

This Rose bud is the last one clinging on to the frame on the left.

These delicate little leaves are on a bush underneath the Silver Birch

euonymus

The Euonymus have settled in to these beds nicely.

The Clary Claryssima are still flowering well in the patio beds. I really need to take them out to get the Hyacinths planted but it seems such a shame when they look so pretty.

ivy

There's quite a bit of Ivy around the garden. Some of it less welcome than other bits but it makes for interesting seed heads.

frosty morning

This is what our garden looked like a couple of days earlier with the first frost of the season.

choisya

Some shrubs have leaves that turn yellow in Autumn. This lovely Choisya has yellow leaves all year round.

viburnum

The three photos above were taken in our front garden just to show that there is something there.

That's it for this month - hope you enjoyed the tour.
