Our Garden - July 2016 |
These lovely astrantia come up without fail every year and look lovely with the sunshine on them. There are also plenty of other flowers round the garden that are purple / white colours. |
The lavender seems to be thriving in its new home, albeit that many of the plants are still in their pots. |
Only one of the two pots of lilies has flowered this year. No idea why - just one of those things perhaps. |
The food beds are thriving and we are enjoying the fruits of my labour with lots of fresh veg for lunch etc. |
The new hydrangeas are doing well in their pots. The pelargonium on the right is one of a new batch of flowers to replace the nicotiana that were devoured by the slugs - nasty, slimy pests. |
I love poppies. Some of the poppies in the garden are the usual field poppies and some more fancy. |
The pigs are apparently a good place to sit. |
Some birds prefer the warm stone of the patio. |
This lovely fluffy plant is still in the "wrong" bed because I haven't moved it! It should be in the bed on the right really. |
I'm not saying our friendly vixen is relaxed with me or anything but .... |
The magpies have worked out Fox + Shirley = food. |
The purple hebe is doing well this year. |
The white hebe isn't in full flower yet but there are a lot of flowers to come. |
We've finally given in and netted the pond to try and stop the heron attacking our fish. The sections can be lifted off if we have human visitors! The gaps at the curves are to make sure the frogs can still get in and out. |
These little daisy flowers pop up year after year as well. |
The heuchera bed is full of colour |
The roses are still in full flower and providing lots of colour around the garden. |
These pretty little things are all around the garden. |
Another plant that flowers year on year, as does the Lady's Mantle on the right. |
The tomato plants are growing well - no tomatoes yet though. |
These lovely calendula are doing really well. There are several different types of heads but this is one of my favourites. |
The gazanias are in the same beds as the calendula. I've bought some tagetes to fill in some of the gaps created by the slugs eating the marigolds! That's it for this month, |
