Our Garden - August 2016 |
Welcome to August - this has been a strange year for weather so far (but when isn't it in the UK?). The begonias are doing well so they don't seem to be upset by it. |
These pretty little pelargoniums give a good splash of colour half way down the right hand side of the garden - I've got a range of colours but this is the only two coloured one. |
The yarrow (achillea) grows each year in the small bed. It seems a bit "thinner" this year - no idea why - I'll put it down to the weather. |
The sedum is just starting to change colour to its pretty pink. |
These lovely flowers are spreading here and there. One is really going for glory - must be more than 6 foot tall! |
I really liked the way the morning sun caught the end of this cotinus branch. |
The hydrangeas are doing really well and have particularly enjoyed the recent rain. |
The pot hydrangeas are also doing well. |
Lots of green around the garden so my eyes can have a rest from the colour. |
The hollyhocks have done really well - I think they appreciated being staked for a bit of support. |
I can't believe that some of the sycamore leaves are already turning yellow - it's only August. |
The roses are still really pretty. |
Another hydrangea colour. |
And another! |
A lovely white one! This is in one of the pots so not the one you can see in the bed on the right. |
The carnations also add a splash of colour. |
The crocosmia are better this year than they've ever been. |
We also have quite a few different varieties of fuchsia around the garden. |
This is a new one for this year - it's doing really well. |
The agapanthus are OK but a bit battered by the wind. |
The white potentilla was in flower a while ago but the pink one is only just coming out. |
Hope you enjoyed our quick stroll around. That's it for this month. |
